Animal Angel Tree Campaign Seeks Donations for Pets in Need

Best Friends Angel Tree Campaign Seeks Donations for Pets in Need

Local animal lovers can share their holiday spirit by donating food, toys and treats for homeless dogs and cats through Best Friends Pet Care’s 12th Annual Animal Angel Tree campaign.   All donations will benefit Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton.

“The holiday season is always difficult for our local animal shelters,” explains Michelle Murray of Best Friends Pet Care in Ashland.  “This year, Hurricane Sandy has put an even bigger burden on shelters because so many lost and abandoned pets need help.  We know our Angel Tree program will make a difference for many pets in need.”

Best Friends has put up its Animal Angel Tree in its lobby. The tree is decorated with paper ornaments featuring photos and information about needy dogs and cats. Pet lovers can call to select a card from the tree and donate from the shelter’s wish list for that dog or cat. All pets featured on the tree are available for adoption.

Donations to the Animal Angel Tree program can be made by visiting Best Friends at 10 Fountain Street, Ashland or by calling 508-881-3441 before December 31, 2012.

Best Friends Pet Care offers boarding, grooming and doggy day camp at 42 locations across the U.S.  The Animal Angel Tree campaign is one way the company gives back to the community.  Since the campaign began,  it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care products for more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S.  For more information visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.

The Baypath Humane Society is a no-kill shelter that rescues and re-homes animals in need.  Located at 5 Rafferty Road, Hopkinton, the non-profit organization is privately run and depends upon private donations. For information, visit http://www.baypathhumane.org.
