Students were introduced to the art style of cubism and examined the early cubist work of Pablo Picasso for thislesson. Students created an original cubist style painting showing multiple views (front and profile) of the same figure in the cubist manner. Students learned about the color wheel and practiced color mixing; using only the primary colors (red, yellow and blue), students were mixed and included the secondary colors (orange, green and violet) in their paintings. Students also learned variousnpainting techniques and examined their work for quality craftsmanship.
“The painting that I made was based off of Pablo Picasso’s cubism," Fuller said. " I used primary and secondary colors. The techniques I used were graffito on the red lines and dry brush around the head with black. I used raggingn in the background to make a pink texture and I also did blue and red dots for the background.”
