Dear Holliston Residents,
It is with great pleasure that Holliston High’s Model United Nations Club invites you to our first “Meet the Candidates Night” on Tuesday March 6, 2012, from 6pm to 8:30pm in the Holliston High School Cafeteria. A pasta dinner will be served. The cost of attendance is $5, which will go towards our overnight trip to Dartmouth College’s Model United Nations Conference in Hanover, NH, as well as our monthly mini-conferences.
As election season approaches, many of us would like our voices to be heard. This event is our chance. State and local politicians will be attending this event, so everyone will have an opportunity to discuss important issues over a casual pasta dinner. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity, because chances to connect so directly and personally with people who will be making decisions that directly affect everyday life are unusual. People often fixate on big national elections and debates, but the issues with the most direct impact on daily life tend to appear on a local level. By attending, you will connect with the people in charge of resolving these issues and will, in turn, be able to make an informed decision when it comes time to vote. Attendees need not be of voting age, every resident of Holliston is welcome. Let your voice be heard.
We ask that you please RSVP, if possible, to our club president, Amy Elias, at aelias02@verizon.net. Walk-ins are welcome; however, responding in advance ensures that we will have the proper amount of food. Thank you very much, and we look forward to seeing you all that night.
Sincerely,
Holliston High School Model United Nations Club
