February's artist of the month is Sabrina Cunha, a fifth grader at the Miller Elementary School. Sabrina is a focused, hard working art student who loves to challenge herself. Sabrina's beautiful oil pastel of a sunset on the beach was based upon a lesson where students were asked to use only two primary colors and one secondary color along with neutral colors for their entire work. Sabrina creatively solved the challenge of creating a realistic beach scene by using a completely warm palette and flooding the sky and water with the bold reds and yellows of a tropical sunset. Well done Sabrina!
