Superintendent John Phelan is retiring after 11 years of service to the Hopkinton Public Schools. The School Committee is working with New England School Development Council in the search for a new superintendent of schools.
An integral part of the process involves parent and community participation and input. The council will facilitate two community-wide focus groups to gather input about desired attributes, experience and knowledge. It will also help identify the immediate tasks and challenges the new superintendent should address.
Focus group sessions are designed to last about 60 - 90 minutes. Parents and community members are invited to attend either session:
-
Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, High School cafeteria, 7-9 pm (snow date Jan. 19)
- Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, Hopkinton Senior Center, 10am - noon (snow date Jan. 24)
The Hopkinton School Committee and NESDEC strongly urge parents and community members to participate.
