5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 25
Help support Hopkinton Little League, and don't forget it's Administrative Professionals week.
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Tomorrow night is "Pick Your Number Night" at Cornell's Pub, so stop by between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. to choose your lucky number when you buy your $10,000 Draw ticket. This fundraiser will help support the Hopkinton Little League.
3. Do you have any unanswered questions about the town? Our "You Ask, Patch Answers," column highlights readers' questions. Most recently, we got some information about the law that allows bartenders to not serve out-of-state patrons. If you have a question, email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, or post it here in the comments.
4. Two Hopkinton youth, eleventh grader Ali Weinstein and sixth grader TJ Carey, were recently a part of the Ice Chips 2012 100 Years of Excellence, a skating show celebrating the dreams and accomplishments of the past, present, and future of figure skating. This year’s 100th Anniversary production celebrated the legacy of the world-renowned figure skating venue, The Skating Club of Boston, through an innovative, entertaining, and visually illuminating production. With a dramatic display of colors, lights, and dazzling skating performances, Ali and TJ were a part of a cast that took the audience on a fascinating journey through some of the most memorable highlights of the past century.
5. It's Administrative Professionals Week. A recent survey showed that 65 percent of people felt their office would be more likely to fall apart if their office manager—more than their boss—left. Do you agree? If so, it's a good time to recognize the administrative professional in your life: perhaps with some flowers from any of the local shops featured in our Readers' Choice poll this week.
