5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 27
Think green this weekend, green up Hopkinton, green fields for kickball, green plants getting frost on them.
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Tomorrow is Green-Up Hopkinton and Shred Day on the town common . Stop by between 9 a.m. and noon to have any papers shredded or find out what areas around town need to help being cleaned up.
2. Want to get rid of those old prescriptions? Stop by the Police Station between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to drop them off anonymously and have them disposed of properly.
3. Did you know the HPTA is having a fundraiser tomorrow at Cornell's Field? They will be holding their second annual kickball tournament starting at 8:45 a.m. Swing by to cheer on your neighbors; the championship game will be held at 5 p.m.
4. Yesterday the Hopkinton boys' track team defeated Bellingham 77 to 59. The team is now 4-2 on the season. Today the JV tennis teams are playing against Westwood, the varsity teams are playing Medway. The softball and baseball teams are also playing Medway.
5. The weather has been pretty nice so far this month but overnight tonight temperatures might drop below freezing. Make sure to take proper precautions for any plants you may have planted. Otherwise temperatures are expected to be pretty reasonable during the day. Highs for today, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be near 60.
