5 Things You Need to Know Today: August 11

On Thursday, we have some arts and crafts for kids and some town government meetings for the adults.

 
  1. The Planning Board is meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Room 105 of the Town Hall. View the agenda here.

    In other town government, the Town Hall Renovation Committee is meeting at 7 p.m. at the Police Station. View the agenda here.

    The Trails Committee will get together at 7 p.m. in Room 014 of the Town Hall. View the agenda here.
  2. Meals on Wheels and BayPath Elder Services are having a fundraiser from 4 to 10 p.m. on August 20 at The Water Hazard. Organizers are still looking for players to participate in this event. The deadline to register as a player is August 15.

  3. The Holliston Recreation Department will host the last session in its series of weekly Thursday art classes for children ages 8-12.

    The class, which runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be taught by local artist and teacher Laurie Leavitt. This week's theme is "printmaking."

    The cost is $22, which includes $4 for materials.
  4. Holliston High School will host open gym for boys in grades 2-8 at 7 p.m.
  5. According to weather.com, the forecast is partly sunny with a high of 82 degrees, a low of 60 and a 10 percent chance of early morning rain.
