1. "HORNS IN THE HOUSE" VETERANS BENEFIT DANCE

WHERE/WHEN: Holliston Veterans of Foreign Wars (310 Woodland St.; 508-429-5272) — Saturday, 7 p.m.—12 a.m.

WHY GO: Come out and support our veterans. You will be thoroughly entertained by the eight-piece band, Horns In The House. There is a cash bar, buffet dinner and raffle.

PRICING:  $20 in advance/$25 at the door


2. 1728 COFFEE HOUSE FEATURING MAEVE GILCHRIST: HARPIST, SINGER AND COMPOSER

WHERE/WHEN: First Congregational Church of Holliston (725 Washington St.; 508-429-8608) — Saturday, 7-10 p.m.

WHY GO: Maeve Gilchrist's Scottish folk roots are fused with a modern jazz sound that is like no other! This is one concert not to be missed!

PRICING: $12 at the door/$10 in advance


3. ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARTY TO BENEFIT HOLLISTON YOUTH LACROSSE

WHERE/WHEN: Upper Town Hall (703 Washington St.) — Saturday, 7-11 p.m.

WHY GO: Support local youth sports while having fun dining and dancing the night away.

Tickets can be purchased from any board member or picked up at Gilfoy's Art Studio downtown.

PRICING: $40


4. SUNDAY CONCERT SERIES: IGOR LOVCHINSKY

WHERE/WHEN: Framingham Public Library (49 Lexington St.; 508-532-5570) — Sunday at 3 p.m.

WHY GO: Pianist Igor Lovchinsky returns to perform selections from Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev. Refreshments will be served.

FRAMINGHAM READS TOGETHER AT AMAZING THINGS: ASHOKEN FAREWELL AND CIVIL WAR-ERA MUSIC

WHERE/WHEN: Amazing Thing Art Center (160 Hollis St.; 508-405-2787) — Friday at 8 p.m.

WHY GO: The music! Kick up your heels with American composers Jay Unger and Molly Mason. You don't want to miss this performance! This show is co-sponsored  by Amazing Things and Framingham Reads Together 2011, the Framingham Public Library's "One Book, One Community" program based on the theme: "The Civil War — On The Battlefield And The Home Front "
