Fingerprint Recovery, Cyber Crimes Among Specialties of New Detectives
The Board of Selectmen officially assigned two Holliston Police officers as Detectives on Monday.
A pinning ceremony during the Holliston Board of Selectmen meeting on Monday officially assigned officers Chad Thompson and Ciara Ryan to the position of detective in the Holliston Police Department.
The pair have been promoted after 28 years of combined service as Holliston police officers.
Detective Ryan, a 17 year veteran of the department, will serve in the position of domestic violence/sexual assault detective. She specializes in domestic violence and child abuse and is a rape aggression instructor, according to a press release from the HPD.
Serving in the department for 11 years, Detective Thompson specializes in cyber crimes, digital evidence recovery and fingerprint recovery. He maintains the department's breathalizer machine and the sex offender registry.
Thompson, who has served as a detective since 2007, was officially assigned on Monday.
"We are very fortunate to have the benefit of the professional talents shown by these two detectives," the department said in a press release.
