Even an interruption caused by the fire at Cornell's Pub didn't stop the fun local teams had at the Hopkinton Schools Fundraiser.

It was a bright and sunny Saturday afternoon when the Hopkinton Parent Teacher Association's annual kickball tournament was held at the field behind Cornell's.

Fifteen teams comprised of local businesses, neighborhood groups and even teachers took to the field and raised more than $3,000 for the HPTA.

The games started early, 8:45 a.m., and by the time the last ball was kicked it was nearing dusk.

The excitement of the tournament didn't stop on the field. After the match participants went inside Cornell's, where a fire occurred during the day, to celebrate Team Keg Kicker's victory.

A special thanks to Shannon Hedstrom and Marsha Birtwistle for organizing the event and taking the pictures.
