On Monday, April 16, the Holliston Fire Department responded to an 8:26 a.m. report of a car which had struck a bicyclist on Winter Street by Stony Brook Drive.

After a rapid assessment by members of the Holliston Fire Department and paramedics from Events EMS, the decision was made to transport the 13 year old male bicyclist to a trauma center by helicopter.

At 9 a.m., Boston MedFlight 2 landed at the Warren Conference Center in Ashland for a landing zone which had been secured by Holliston Engine 2 and the Ashland Police Department.

MedFlight departed the landing zone at 9:13 a.m. for a transport to Children’s Hospital Boston. The crash is under investigation by the Holliston Police Department.

According to Fire Chief Michael Cassidy, “the patient’s injuries could have been more significant had the bicyclist not been wearing a helmet.”
