Holliston Police Log: Film Crew At Stoddard Park, One Arrest

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 17

7:54 a.m.: A caller from Jerrold Street reported that there had been several strange motor vehicles parked at the end of her street recently.

8:15 a.m.: A resident reported a tent set up at Stoddard Park. An officer responded and spoke to a film crew on the scene.

8:52 a.m.: A motorist reported a loose horse on Concord Street. The horse was contained and Animal Control followed up with the owner due to multiple incidents.

9:01 a.m.: A caller from Jerrold Street reported a vehicle parked in the area that belonged to bow hunters. The hunters were on the conservation land. The issue was reported to Environmental Police for follow up.

3:29 p.m.: A caller reported kids throwing rocks off the bridge on Exchange Street. An officer from the Holliston Police Department responded but the kids were gone. A short time later a second caller reported the same.

5:18 p.m.: A caller from Birchwood Road reported that a bullet or some other projectile had broken her porch window.

11:02 p.m.: An officer spoke with the occupants of a vehicle that was parked at Holliston Mobil after the business was closed.

Thursday, Oct. 18

1:53 a.m.: An officer spoke to a resident who was out for a walk at Pleasure Point. The resident was advised that the park closes at dusk.

5:47 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Lowland Street and issued the operator a summons for operating without a license.

8:15 a.m.: Officers responded with the Holliston Fire Department to a two-car crash on Highland Street. Both vehicles were towed.

9:47 p.m.: A caller reported a youth walking along Washington Street in dark clothing. An officer located the juvenile and transported him to the station where he waited for a ride.

Friday, Oct. 19

1:37 a.m.: A caller from Casey’s Crossing reported a dark colored Volvo had been driving slowly through the parking lot around this time for the past two weeks. An officer checked the area but did not locate the vehicle.

4:46 a.m.: A caller from Westfield Drive reported that a person ran from their yard when a smoke alarm was activated in the house. Officers could not locate the person.

6:43 a.m.: Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Washington and Highland streets. No injuries were reported.

6:54 p.m.: A caller reported that they had struck a deer on their motorcycle on Brook Street. No damage was reported to the motorcycle.

1:33 p.m.: A caller from Washington Street reported a male dressed in black behind their house. Officers responded but could not locate the man.

2:52 p.m.: An officer reported an incident of a student being solicited for marijuana at Holliston High School.

Saturday, Oct. 20

1:21 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at Casey’s Crossing and arrested Thomas Haas, 37, of 116 Church St. Haas was charged with drunken-driving.

7:51 a.m.: A caller reported a dead turkey in their yard on Ruthellen Road.

10:33 a.m.: An officer took a report of breaking and entering on Woods Crossing.

3:11 p.m.: An officer spoke with youths on the bridge on Exchange Street.

5:11 p.m.: A caller from the Holliston Town Hall reported that they lost power during an event there. An employee responded to assist.

8:20 p.m.: An officer assisted a resident of Washington Street who was locked out of their house. Entry to the house was gained.

10:16 p.m.: A caller reported youths setting off fireworks in the Westfield Drive area. An officer responded and spoke to a homeowner on Ruthellen Road about the incident.

10:40 p.m.: A caller reported fireworks in the Ashland Street area.

Sunday, Oct. 21

4:45 a.m.: A caller from Rolling Meadow Drive reported hearing people outside of their residence. Upon checking the caller said they heard car doors slam and a vehicle drive away. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

12:04 p.m.: A caller reported stolen political signs from Kim Place.

7:20 p.m.: A motorist reported that a vehicle struck a deer on Washington Street. Minor damage was observed to the vehicle; the deer ran off in to the woods.

10:19 p.m.: A caller reported a male asleep in his vehicle at the FEMA response facility on Washington Street. An officer responded and spoke to the male who was using his cell phone.
