Holliston Police Log: Texting While Driving, Deer Put Down
The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.
Wednesday, Oct. 24
2:36 a.m.: An officer noted that a bag of leaves had been left near the gate of the recycling center.
1:01 p.m.: A caller from Highland Street reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of her house. An officer from the Holliston Police Department checked the vehicle and discovered that it was not insured properly. The officer had the vehicle towed.
1:55 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Church Street and issued a summons to the operator for driving without a license and a red light violation.
4:21 p.m.: A caller reported that someone was putting flyers in mailboxes on Cranberry Lane. The person was working for Tru-Green in the area.
4:50 p.m.: A caller from Prentice Street reported that his dog was loose in the area.
5:47 p.m.: A caller reported an injured deer on the side of Old Town Road. An officer located the animal and put it down with his service weapon.
8:07 p.m.: A caller from Fiske Street said they went out for a short while and when they returned their gas stove was on without being lit. The Holliston Fire Department responded to investigate.
Thursday, Oct. 25
1:31 a.m.: An officer checked the Westfield Drive neighborhood for suspicious activity.
9:22 a.m.: A 911 caller reported an assault and battery involving their neighbors on Kathryn Lane. An investigation is underway.
10:42 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Chamberlain Street. Marijuana related items were confiscated from the driver.
12:40 p.m.: Officers responded to a residential alarm on Underwood Street. When they arrived the door was open but everything inside the residence was OK.
3:02 p.m. A person reported an issue with her son that occurred at Holliston High School.
3:50 p.m.: A caller reported a deer strike on Norfolk Street. Officers responded and located the deer in Medway.
3:52 p.m.: A caller reported that a female was texting while waiting to make the left turn from Washington Street on to Hollis Street. The information was logged.
7:50 p.m.: A caller reported a house fire on Concord Street. The fire was extinguished within 10-minutes.
