Hopkinton Gourmet Wins Best Coffee

In this week's best of Patch Readers' Choice poll we asked where your favorite place to get a coffee in town was.

In a store so small you might not even notice it if you blink, the best coffee in Hopkinton is served according to voters.

Hopkinton Gourmet is owned and operated by David Phillips, a transplanted Englishman with a great feel for the community.

Phillips and the rest of the staff take the time to get to know there customers, many of whom are on a first name basis.

"The thing that we have here that you don't get at some of the other coffee shops is Hospitality," Phillips said. "You can get a coffee anywhere, but it's the people that work here that really make it special."

The coffee shop employs numerous high school students who work after school and on weekends. Even the young employees have a connection with the patrons.

"The coffee is great, the bagel sandwiches are better than anywhere else in town and the people who work there are always friendly and chatty. I absolutely love this place," Allison Damato said in a review on their listing.
