Hopkinton High Principal To Resign in December

Alyson Geary will be leaving the district after eight years.

According to a press release from Hopkinton High School today, Principal Alyson Geary will be resigning at the end of the calendar year.

Geary, who has been with the district for eight years, will be taking a job working as an Associate Director for the Commission on Public Secondary Schools at the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

"Saying goodbye to a place I care about as much as Hopkinton High School is extremely difficult, but for professional reasons, I feel it is the right course of action for me at this time," Geary said in a letter to parents. "I will remain fully committed to the Hopkinton Public Schools until the end of December and you should feel free to contact me with issues or questions until that time."

Interim Superintendent Steven Hiersche is expected to speak about Geary's resignation, and finding a replacement, at tomorrow night's School Committee meeting.
