At 6:22 last night, officers from the Hopkinton Police Department responded to a call for a domestic incident on Fenton Street.

The caller reported that his 10-year-old son was being assaulted by his ex-wife's boyfriend.

Police Responded to the incident and arrested Barry E. Posternak, 48, of 15 Fenton St. Posternak was charged with assault and battery along with assault and battery of a minor.

According to the District Attorney's office, when police arrived on the scene they observed a red welt on the boys neck and arrested Posternak at that time.

Posternak was arraigned today and had his bail set at $500, with conditions of no assault and a restraining order.

According to the police report, the boy's father was out of state at the time the incident occurred.
