Hopkinton Police Log: Dryer Fire, Drunk Driving Crash
The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.
Tuesday, Dec. 18
12:39 a.m.: An officer had partygoers on Fenton Street move cars that were creating a driving hazard.
5:26 a.m.: A dog walker was startled by another dog walker on Hearthstone Drive.
6:01 a.m.: NStar responded to a downed wire at the intersection of School Street and Elizabeth Road. By 8 a.m. the road was reopened.
10:25 a.m.: Officers responded with the Hopkinton Fire Department to a dryer fire on Hayden Rowe Street.
12:12 p.m.: A caller from Ash Street reported an unknown man sitting in his white van in the driveway. The caller said the scruffy man had gone to the back door and put a card on the door. Officers responded and spoke to the man who was a painter that had lost the homeowner’s phone number.
Wednesday, Dec. 19
8:24 a.m.: An officer assisted the State Police with a crash on Route 495.
10:18 a.m.: An officer responded to a disturbance at a school assembly.
10:23 a.m.: A caller from Front Street reported a stolen package. The UPS driver that dropped the package off was able to help locate it.
3:53 p.m.: A resident reported that her car was broken into and her purse was stolen while she was at school.
6:18 p.m.: A resident went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to report a domestic assault. After speaking with everyone involved officers summonsed one person for domestic assault and battery.
6:52 p.m.: Officers spoke with two people on Ash Street who were talking loudly after having a bad day.
7:04 p.m.: A vehicle crashed in to a telephone pole on Saddle Hill Road. Officers responded and arrested the driver, Michael J. Bailey, 47, of 7 Riverbend Rd., Upton. Bailey was charged with drunken driving, failure to drive in the right lane.
