Hopkinton Police Log: Two School Bus Crashes
The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.
Monday, Dec. 10
7:06 a.m.: A school bus was involved in a crash on Granite Street. None of the 30 plus kids on board were injured.
10:47 a.m.: An officer from the Hopkinton Police Department assisted with crash on East Main Street. One of the vehicles involved had allegedly fled a crash in Hopkinton where it hit a guardrail and a telephone pole. A complaint application was filed with charges of marked lanes violation and fleeing the scene of an accident.
12:49 p.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a working fire on Trailside Lane. The fire started in the dryer and was contained to the laundry room.
Tuesday, Dec. 11
11:51 a.m.: An officer witnessed a school bus crash in to a tree on Ash Street. Injuries were reported.
3:07 p.m.: Two cars were involved in a crash on East Main Street. At least one person was injured.
2:50 p.m.: An officer investigated a hit and run crash on West Main Street.
6:24 p.m.: Officers arrested Steven M. Bettencourt, 26, of 17 Church St. after a motor vehicle stop. Bettencourt had warrant charges for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, concealing a license plate, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
9:31 p.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported a neighbor who was using power tools in their garage. The neighbor was fixing their car and was not being noisy when an officer arrived.
