Hopkinton Police Log: Youths at Sandy Beach, Officer Struck

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 20

8:27 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of a person stuck in an elevator on South Street.

10:43 a.m.: A detail officer reported that he was struck by a vehicle on Clinton Street.

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported an injured deer on their Hayden Rowe Street lawn. An officer responded and put the deer down.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

1:51 a.m.: A caller reported someone in her house on Smith Road. The caller said she saw him crouching in the hallway. An officer entered the house but did not find anyone there.

11:41 a.m.: A caller reported a possible break-in to their Smith Road house overnight.

3:00 p.m.: A resident of Summer Street went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to report that someone tried to break into her car overnight.

8:53 p.m.: A resident of Claflin Street reported a domestic incident that had just occurred. Officers responded to the suspects residence but the male had already take off in a vehicle. Later in the evening the evening Nathan Butler Stewart, 25, of 12 Claflin St. turned himself in. He was charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property over $250 and witness intimidation.

Thursday, Nov. 22

1:52 a.m.: A caller from Claflin Street reported a larceny.

7:44 p.m.: A caller from a West Main Street gas station reported a customer that drove off without paying.

Friday, Nov. 23

10:58 a.m.: A caller from Smith Road reported that a strange motor vehicle with a male occupant had been parking in the area.

12:58 p.m.: A caller from Lumber Street reported finding two loose dogs. Animal Control was notified.

6:04 p.m.: Multiple callers and officers noticed the sound of gunshots near Ash Street. An officer responded and had partiers cease their use of fireworks.

Saturday, Nov. 24

9:03 p.m.: An officer checked the Sandy Beach parking lots were some youths had been gathering. The officer destroyed a small amount of marijuana and the youths were issued verbal warnings before being removed from the parking lot.

Sunday, Nov. 25

11:19 a.m.: A resident of Tammer Lane reported overnight vandalism to a few mailboxes. An officer determined the damage was caused by a car in a hit and run crash.

6:12 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a fire in the wall behind his wood stove. An officer responded with the Hopkinton Fire Department to the Hayden Rowe Street residence.

7:06 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that a fallen electric wire was igniting leaves on fire on Spring Street. The road was temporarily closed so NStar could respond.
