Hopkinton Police Log: Skating on Thin Ice, Three Arrests
The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.
Thursday, Jan. 3
8:48 a.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a medical call on Granite Street.
10:08 a.m.: A resident went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to speak with an officer regarding possible identity theft.
4:18 p.m.: A resident reported several children on the ice at Hopkinton State Park. The person said the kids were near open water. An officer responded and saw people ice fishing. The officer also did not observe any open water. The officer said at the time that the ice was safe.
6:08 p.m.: A caller reported that she was sideswiped by a tractor-trailer on West Main Street near Price Chopper.
Friday, Jan. 4
1:17 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street and arrested Tracey Lee Simmons, 34, of 1231 Quaker St., Northbridge. Simmons was charged with marked lanes violation, second offense drunken driving and possession of a class E substance.
6:57 a.m.: An officer from the State Police looked at a vehicle that was reportedly involved in a hit and run crash in Connecticut on Thursday. The vehicle in question did not have any damage and the owner said they were not in CT.
11:53 a.m.: A caller from a business on South Street reported a vehicle that had been parked in their lot for at least three weeks.
Saturday, Jan. 5
1:22 a.m.: A caller reported a group of youths walking down Front Street making excessive noise. An officer responded but did not find the youths.
4:07 a.m.: A caller reported a group of young people on West Main Street near the water tower. An officer spoke to the group and they were leaving Price Chopper headed back to Upton.
8:49 a.m.: A car crashed on Ash Street. The driver of the vehicle hit his head but was conscious and transported to the hospital. The vehicle was towed.
11:30 a.m.: A caller from the Woodville Post Office reported a woman that “didn’t seem right” doing business there. According to the caller the woman had a vacant stare and another person saw her swerving on the way to the Post Office. An officer responded and found the vehicle parked on West Main Street. The officer transported the woman home.
11:55 a.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Highway Department removing glass and other debris from Cedar Street.
1:26 p.m.: An officer reported that it appeared someone had been in a town-owned property on Hayden Rowe Street.
6:20 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street and arrested Lloyd B. Kennedy, 24, of 2 Claudette Dr., Milford. Kennedy was charged with operating with a suspended license.
11:19 p.m.: A driver crashed in to a telephone pole on West Main Street. Shortly after an officer located the vehicle and driver.
Sunday, Dec. 6
6:51 a.m.: An officer from the Northborough Police Department reported a disoriented driver that was near Colella’s and needed assistance. Shortly after a caller from Cross Street reported a matching vehicle blocking his driveway. An officer responded with the Fire Department for an evaluation of the driver who was determined to be OK.
4:54 p.m.: A resident reported a van on West Main Street with a suspicious occupant. An officer responded and spoke with the occupant who was a cleaner.
5:17 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street and arrested Lily Santina Augustini, 19, of 32 Eastview Rd. Augustini was charged with marked lanes violation and drunken-driving.
