If you're a hot dog fanatic, or simply looking for a value-priced, quick good lunch, check out C&R Hot Dogs and Baked Potato on 459 Washington Street in Holliston. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am - 3 p.m.
C&R provides a wide range of hot dogs and toppings, from traditional condiments like ketchup and mustards to "adventurous" toppings such as chili, baked beans, sauerkraut, cheeses, and marinara sauce, to "outrageous" toppings such as their vaunted secret sauce, jalapenos, habanero sauce, horse radish, and salsa, among others.
Baked potatoes are on the menu as an alternative for vegetarians and as a terrific accompaniment for truly hungry guests. You can order your potato with any combination of toppings you want. "We're the only restaurant in Holliston that serves baked potatoes," co-owner Carl Damigella claims.
C&R is adding daily soup selections around Dec. 1, for those cold winter days. Chili is always available too. Ice cream novelties and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks fill out the menu.
C&R owners Damigella and Rich Maccagnano are long time Holliston residents, very involved with community organizations as well as local office holders.
"We started out running a food cart at charity events," Damigella explains. "A number of people approached us at the Taste Of Holliston event, and asked us to cater everything from birthday parties to other community events."
"This is kind of a hobby for us." Maccagnano continues. "We asked Theresa Lampkin to join our team, and decided to open the store here at a building I own. We really pride ourselves on our cleanliness. It's very important to us."
The store is also developing a reputation for the T-shirt display on the walls. Customers are invited to bring in one of their corporate or team T-shirts to be placed on display.
If you are looking for a recession value meal, or a restaurant that features the best hot dogs ( Kayem brand), visit C&R Hot Dogs.
