The Muscular Dystrophy Association raised more than $33,000 Wednesday with a little help from 60 "jailbirds."

The volunteers agreed to raise donations for their bail money from a "cell block" at Bugaboo Creek Steak House. All of the funds raised, both in cash and in online donations for the jailbirds, will be used by the MDA to benefit individuals in Central Massachusetts, said Dave Spellman, executive director of the MDA, based in Westborough.

The jailbirds for the Central Massachusetts chapter fundraiser came from communities including Milford, Holliston and Medway.
