LETTER: Dykema Reverses Online Vote Promise

One reader says Rep. Dykema has started her term going back on her promises.

Dear Editor,

It seems that Rep. Dykema’s start of her third term is off to a very bad start. First, she takes an overseas junket and doesn’t state who paid for it. Hey, it was on water quality so it is ok. Has she not heard of skype?

Dykema files legislation to charge everyone for school transportation. She never looks for a savings, just more of our money.

On her third vote of the session, she goes back on her promise to put committee votes online. Then, she lies about the technology not being available to put them on line when she said in October it was there. As we all know, any 18 year old could put them online.

Next, she votes with the Speaker 100% of the time during the first 26 votes. She never looked at the merit of the issues. Shame on her.

Sincerely,

Sue Austin

Aw come on Sue, - you never really believed Dykema during her campaign speeches - did you? She never wanted transparency.

She's a Massachusetts Elite-ocrat; she tells the low-information voters one thing, then votes exactly the way the Speaker tells her to.

As obnoxious as Dykema is as a person and as a politician, what's REALLY obnoxious is how many people still willing vote for liars like her - simply because they are 'Democrats'.

We haven't had a real democrat in this state in over 30 years! Now we have Kleptocrats!

In Dykema's own words.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0E66UJ3IPI&feature=youtu.be&utm_source=midnite&utm_campaign=midnight&utm_medium=email

Her quote said she would absolutely vote for it. Even the moderator challenged her about voting against this. It's common sense.

She should never have been re-elected. This is the reason. She's a typical politician - says anything to get elected and does the opposite when voting ! She has no respect for voters, and she doesn't tell the truth !

THIS IS DISHONEST AND SHE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Ms. Austin is a member in good standing of the Tea Party. In the past she has shown that she likes hurl charges about Rep. Dykema (discussing "forced unionization") that are nothing moe but campaign rhetoric. Now that the district has spoken, she can't seem to stop the campaign. Ms. Dykema was not her candidate that much is clear.
Has she ever bothered to contact Rep. Dykema's office to ask a question before making accusations? I doubt it.
We are all entitled to our opinions, however when forming them it is important to get all of the information not just one perspective.,

Mark, Mark,...Mark... The 'Tea Party' has NOTHING to do with Dykema's voting record.

Nobody in the 'Tea Party' is down at the state house twisting her arm. Bob Deleo is doing that work.

So, if Dykema is a 'BIG GIRL',...and an 'honest Democrat', - DID SHE vote AGAINST putting voting records on line? She PROMISED to vote FOR IT. But - 'surprise' - she voted AGAINST IT!

HOW do you defend a bald-faced LIE - by claiming that the people pointing it out are Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, or Tea Partiers?

Is Dykema responsible for her own votes? Yes or NO?

This is typical of a left winger when they can't defend the indefensible. They make personal attacks against writers and try to change the subject. The Dykema supporters' smear operation continues. They can't handle the truth. It's on video. It's impossible to deny. She said it herself.

Dykema cannot be trusted. She said during the Hopkinton debate last fall that it was a mistake to vote against putting these votes online ! She said she would vote the other way if re-elected. Any teenager can do it !

SHE LIED TO US !! She's giving excuses and being hypocritical.

She doesn't think anyone will notice. This is typical arrogance of a politician who will lie to your face with a smile and do the opposite. Empty words. This is a disgrace. She should have lost the election in 2012. She doesn't care about promises to voters.

She's part of the Beacon Hill gang that votes lock step with the Speaker from Winthrop. She's a partisan. So much for the "Independent Democrat" she claimed to be in campaign literature. All phony. Now she's caught in a BIG FAT LIE.

Carolyn followed up, as she always does. She talked to the technical people on Beacon Hill to find out what they could do, and they told her that they had never had any such request!

That means that the Republicans who've been proposing this for several years aren't really serious about transparency. They're serious about political theater.

Carolyn did what no one else had ever done before and for this, the usual sore losers are attacking her. They can't even give us a rest from their angry, misleading negativity.

One more thing: The level of hatefulness expressed by Marty Lamb's zombie campaign is incredible. Will they ever stop polluting our communities? Are they going to inflict another 2 years of constant vituperation on us all after losing a landslide?

Can't they find something positive to work on? The community needs that.

>> “...level of hatefulness...zombie campaign...”

I don't know about zombies, but most Americans hate a lying politician. I do!.

Problem is, here in Massachusetts, - that's the only kind the Kleptocrats put forward.

>> “technical people...Beacon Hill...never had any such request”

That's about as lame an excuse as “...the dog ate my homework'!

I guess the DOG ate Mz. Dykema's promise? He certainly ate her credibility!

I don't know why Mr. Roney calls people names. But, it must hurt that Rep. Dykema who he shills for has been caught in multiple lies. She could not have checked, because the Senate voted to post these votes online. It the Senate can do it, then the House can. Look, this is all about voting independently which Rep. Dykema doesn't do. She votes with the Speaker.

HOLD ON FOLKS - I think I've figured out WHY Dykema voted 'No'!

It's basically a matter of her inexperience....

You see, - she's never voted on anything that didn't come with a tax or a new regulation designed to squeeze the private sector - like that unionizing of family day care providers.

So, THIS bill didn't have a TAX!! She was waiting for somebody to write the Pay-per-View part before she'd agree to it.

Ms Dykema should never have been re-elected. This is the reason why. She says one thing and does another. She doesn't give a wit about promises to voters. They are empty words. All she cares about is being a Boston pol. She's part of the Beacon Hill gang that votes lock step with the Speaker from Winthrop. She doesn't give a wit about representing constituents in the district.

This is about holding elected officials accountable. Of course, her supporters want her votes to stay hidden. Rep. Dykema flip flopped on publishing committee votes online. She voted with the Speaker as usual. Moreover, all of her votes so far are with the Speaker this year. Her campaign rhetoric claiming to be an "Independent Democrat" in campaign literature is false.

Dykema's response below: NOT a few votes it is 6000-8000! She/we all want this done right, accurately w/sop's, infrastructure, accountabilty, timely & maintained,
From Rep. Dykema: 1/24, state Republican Pty publicly questioned a vote I cast against an amendment to post legislative committee votes online, a concept that I had supported at a pre-election debate. Its my responsibility to explain votes I cast on your behalf & I appreciate this opportunity to respond. I support the intent of the amendment to increase transparency, passing this proposal w/o understanding practical resource requirements is not something I could support.
Unlike roll call votes, which are currently posted online and number in the hundreds each legislative session, there are approximately 6,000-8,000 committee votes taken in the same period. Cataloging this qty of info online is not a trivial task. In requesting support for the proposal, the amendment’s sponsor did not provide any basic info on resource requirements or planning, nor had they contacted legislative information services to request that such info be compiled. This session I am co-sponsoring a bill HD 3412that, unlike last week’s amendment, will pass through the full committee & public hearing process allowing important details to be addressed. This will allow us to move forward with a more thoughtful and productive proposal.

"The full response is on HopNews.com & also gives State Rep Dykema's contact info.."-dhayes
