LETTER: Dykema's Campaign Mislead Voters
Dykema's return of the SEUI donation was not done properly according to one patch reader.
Dear Editor,
It is Rep. Dykema who is attempting to mislead voters.
Miraculously yesterday she comes up with back dated letter saying she returned it. The problem with that is that the SEIU never reported the return check until guess when? Yesterday. How convenient!
The other problem is that the proper procedure for returning a donation is to deposit and then refund. If you look at the Representative’s previous reports, that’s how she has done it in the past.
During the debate, she said the SEIU has never helped her campaign. Don’t believe me read the Milford Daily News article. http://www.milforddailynews.com/news/x185285772/New-legislators-received-thousands-in-PAC-union-donations. Is the newspaper now lying as well?
100% of the Representative mailers have been funded by the Massachusetts Democrat State Party and other special interest groups. She votes for the Speaker not the district. That’s why she is getting all this help from Boston.
Thank you,
Shane Hayes

The sad but simple truth is that Mz Dykema is a rather stereotypical Massachusetts Democrat - by which I mean all left-wing political agenda, union backed [bought and paid for] with a veneer of charm.
Until now she's had a real advantage - because she is perky and attractive, and that fools a lot of voters - who WANT to believe in her. And since many elderly voters are not computer savvy they get their news from the standard left-leaning rags.
So suddenly thanks to the internet - there is proof of an SEIU check.
Oops! Busted! Quick - return it - yesterday!. Quick, marshal the usual lieutenants to write letters claiming 'it was all a mistake'. Quick - more smoke, more dust, more blowing leaves, - pretend nothing unusual...
Why is this sad? Because this is what young Democrats learn in this state. They come to believe this is 'business as usual'. And the next generation goes down the same path.
On Tuesday - you subject your kids to more of the same.
OR, you can say 'ENOUGH' - and elect Marty!

It is a completely dishonest fabrication to call the SEIU's mistake "proof."
Mike has no principles, only his attacks. You simply cannot trust a single word he says.

What is sad is poor old mike can't spell Ms. Disrepects women, Carolyn Dykema is well educated, experience in the community, in small and large business and cares for this community.
He is a bigot to the LGTB community. Who fears public bathrooms for his grandchidren but feels free to approach our children in malls and public places to quiz them in history.
He Is fundraising for his on narrow minded Archie Bunker mindset, check it out at www.ironmleformass.com , he is asking for personal check contributions to support his tirades. He is bullying for a party and not a canidate. He lives in ACTON and has no interest in the 8th district - OUR community he is a party bully. He can't even vote for Mr Lamb and donated a measley $35 token to his campaign,
Sean, check out this website noted above.

Is Shane Hayes complaining that Rep. Dykema's campaign received a donation in the form of a check, which was never endorsed or deposited, but was returned to the donor? Am I missing something here? Any person or organization is capable of mailing a check to an unwilling recipient; the fact that Rep. Dykema did not deposit the check clearly shows she did not wish to receive it. Obviously, she received no benefit from this check, either.

Wow, what a sneaky cover-up. I watched the Hopkinton debate a few times. Carolyn absolutely lied when she said she didn't take any support from SEIU. Perhaps Carolyn is calling the Milford Daily News liars? Hmmm...and she also said she wasn't endorsed by the SEIU as well. However, SEIU's newsletter said they DID endorse her. Wow...way to run away from the facts, Carolyn!!! I don't want you as my State Representative.

Every word Carolyn said was true.
If you read the story in the Milford News, you'll see that Carolyn is an exception from the headline. She didn't take union contributions or anything from special interest PACs. She ran a grassroots campaign. And only the MTA sent INDEPENDENT mailings that did not come from Carolyn's campaign.
You, SJohnson, should be ashamed to push this smear.
Kelly Roney
9:47 pm on Friday, November 2, 2012
Shane, nonsense, you have no idea what you're talking about. The proper procedure is to refuse the donation and to return the check uncashed. If you had the slightest idea what you're talking about, you'd know that.
On the Milford Daily News, you should try reading the article you've linked to. It says:
"Dykema notably eschewed donations from PACs or lobbyists during her campaign. She did benefit from nearly $8,000 of independent expenses by the state teachers' union, meaning, by law, the spending was not coordinated with her campaign.
"I really wanted to raise money from individuals in the community and that's completely what I focused on," she said. "My campaign, from the beginning, I envisioned as a grassroots effort. We had volunteer staff and kept it local and that was a theme through the fundraising efforts." "
Now we know. You're a right-wing ideologue without any principles. You're lying, not the Milford Daily News. Truth or fiction doesn't matter to you, only the mud you can sling.
Two of Marty's most ardent supporters have commented, and it behooves Lamb to prove that he's not using you and them as proxies to put forward an attack that could only come from people of low character.
Marty, do you approve of this? This is dirty politics. You're desperate for a game changer, but you don't have to lose what's left of your dignity.

Everyone should take careful note of which campaign lieutenant says 'every word Carolyn says is true',...and...
...that the powerful SEIU [2.1 million member union founded by communist Andy Stern] 'made a mistake'.
'Nothing to see here sheeple - just keep voting Democrat'.
At this point I'd be wondering if the lieutenant works for Dykema, - or for the SEIU...or both?

People need to really look at who is paying for the mailers for a candidate. Look where it's coming from. With Ms. Dykema, it's from all outside groups, coming out of Boston. That's very telling. She's aligned with special interests and we see that with her voting record. She votes 95% of the time with the Speaker. Winthrop has nothing to do with Middlesex.

Quite a personal testimony, Lisa. I saw it all, and I just want to offer my sympathies for what you are dealing with and wish you all the best. Please know that there is compassion for what you are going through.

These outside group mailers cost a whole lot more than a donation. Voters should really look at who is paying for mailers on a candidate. Where are they coming from, and ask what is the connection. Who is the candidate beholden to. With Ms. Dykema, all these mailers she puts in our boxes are from union groups or state Party. Voters can see she is beholden to Boston, not the district. Not good.

Marty Lamb does the right thing and sends his own mail. I love the musical talking card. That sure is creative and caught my attention. I keep it on the kitchen table and also took it with me to the retirees group meeting. It gets quite a positive reaction. Congratulations to the Lamb campaign for the best mailer I've seen and read. All the others I just glance at and trash. I don't even read at this stage. Way too much static. It's all the same after a certain point, and everybody keeps sending them, and I keep trashing them. The Marty Lamb talking card I keep ! It's a keeper !

250 residents in Hopkinton came out in print last week that include public leaders publicly support Carolyn Dykema.
Current and past selectman in Hopkinton and Holliston have publically endorsed Carolyn Dykema.
MWDN the largest news resource for the 8th district has endorsed Carolyn Dykema.
Republican Dan Haley of Holliston endorses Carolyn Dykema.
Where are the predominant usual very vocal local republicans in this district coming out to endorse Mr Lamb ....their NOT.
Lets see very few have even made minimal donations to his campaign either.
Where was Mr Lamb last night? off fundraisng in Framingham at Ken's after he signed in at the Holliston Special Town mtg then LEFT. It costs a lot of money to send musiccal flyers and pink letters (disappointed mine wasn't scented) and ploy for women voters.
People saw him sign and leave, it was sneaky, dishonest to make an appearance then leave and guess what that meeting is videod as well and his CM already released a press release with pictures at the fundraiser with his hand out and NOT in attendence at what could have possible been his 5th town meeing in nearly 20yrs to support the community he lives in.
Tues. 11/6 will prove who the citizens of the 8th district support for their community and to represent them again on Beacon Hill - I look forward to casting MY Vote along with constiunts noted above for Carolyn Dykema.

You still haven't learned, Ms. Hayes. You have already been caught tonight in a huge lie with your personal attack against Lisa Keefe who stated she was reporting your abuse to the editor. Have you no shame at all.
If you look on OCPF, you'll see that Mr. Lamb has raised quite a great deal of funding, and this is a huge show of support.
MWDN is a handful of people on an editorial board, not the masses.
The Holliston town meeting was scheduled for Monday. Due to mother nature and the hurricane, it was postponed until Thursday, Nov 1 by the town. This event Mr. Lamb had scheduled was already booked way in advance of course. So, that means you need to work it and cover both. It's that simple.
You live in Hopkinton, So, you weren't there. This is just more dirt from the Dykema campaign. You can still go to part of a meeting and show up late at an event. This is common sense when something is booked way in advance and a hurricane happens to roll in.
You really are beneath contempt. I was hoping before when you decided to dig into Ms. Keefe's personal matters and how that backfired on you when she talked about her serious illness, that you would have learned your lesson and stop.
You haven't learned. You are shameful and reprehensible to take a hurricane and postponement of a meeting out of context for your petty partisan political purposes.
Shame on you.

There are name calling posts directed at myself from the person you reference, others & now yourself. An insomnia moment I posted something I immedietly regretted & deleted. My post was wrong & admittedly so. Refencing it in strings is going to make people curious. Unlike some I dont hide behind an alias & appreciate yourself not taking jabs at my far from heartless character as well.
In regards to the special town meeting and Mr Lamb's lack of presence.
This has been a hot button about: lack of local involvement & poor attendence record at town meetings. Instead the release should have included a message like this: "Mr Lamb was disappointed not to be able to stay and participate in the rescheduled special town mtg in Holliston on 11/1. This meeting was rescheduled from 10/30 in the wake of hurricane Sandy and Mr Lamb had already a previous scheduled republican leaders event to attend but did his best to juggle his calendar this day with multiple committments." this statement then covers the question why in this circumstance. which was obvious but does need to be publicly stated. pr 101-who, what, when & why -his statement need the why regardless of assumed or obvious.
I still also, believe the opposing campaign needs to make a public statement against the trespassing onto private property, theft and destruction of democratic signs in the town of Holliston.
No statement leads to an assumed perception this behavior is accepted.

Carolyn Dykema is running an honest campaign for re-election with a great deal of local community support. Ms Vosburg is like many of us not influenced by gimmicks.
Check out an urban dictionary meaning of this type of tatics:
gimmicks ; garbage disguised as hard work.
Piggybackers love gimmicks because it helps disguise their piggybacking behaviour.
Often, Piggybackers spend more time writing emails (or gimmicks) than actually spending time on the actual work or task at hand. This is how you can identify a piggybacker.Typically, the piggybackers will frustrate the piggybacked with too much gimmicks

Lawns signs for Scott Brown and Marty Lamb have been missing in Southborough since the middle of this past week, especially since Halloween. So, efforts are being made to replace. I noticed one of those Lamb lawn signs missing yesterday in Southborough - the one that was illegally planted on public land at the intersection of White-Bagley and Boston Rd (Rt. 30). I was too busy going door-to-door for Carolyn to check whether the many illegally placed Lamb signs along Framingham Rd. were also taken down.
Frankly, the towns should be taking down these illegally placed signs. You'll notice that no Democrats at all have placed signs on public property in Southborough.

Mr Folkes,
I refernced to a letter on this platform from a Holliston DTC member noting this dishonest behavior and wanting this illegal behavior to stop. My plea was for a RTC to respond with a similiar comment. Sandy was pre Halloween so if it is increasing post that date it can not be the result of the hurricane as another poster mentioned. This is not crap; its tresspassing, theft and vandelism regardless of party.
Don Folkes

Ms Hayes - I've noticed lots of Lamb and Brown lawn signs disappear in Southborough since Halloween. This was after the storm, too. Why were they removed and by whom I wonder. What motive. If you want to talk to the RTC, don't you know how ? Don't you know who to call ? You all know who is in charge in other groups. Pick up the phone. Instead, you would rather make a public spectacle. You and Mr. Roney are a tag team combo. He was online with you that night posting comments as well. This was the same night the woman was attacked on her medical condition.

The important fact is that this letter is a distortion and a smear.
Carolyn Dykema declined the SEIU's unsolicited contribution, and Marty Lamb partisans don't care what's true. They only care about trying to damage her with a mistake that someone else made.

Congratulations, you got me, Mike.
Your comment goes beyond distortion into outright lying. Carolyn has voted with unions sometimes but certainly not on all union issues. I've said it before, and you know it. But that doesn't stop you from repeating the lie.
A couple of examples:
- No on casinos, which the AFL-CIO wanted
- Yes on more charter schools, which teachers' unions opposed
- Yes on new procedures for evaluating teachers, against the teachers' unions views
- Yes on giving towns the power to put union workers onto the state GIC for cheaper health insurance, which AFSCME and other public worker unions opposed
Those are facts.
Carolyn Dykema's voting record is less partisan than every single Republican in the House. Every single one.
Nonetheless, she has a history of working with GOP members to pass important legislation, the Valor Act, for one.
