Marian 4, Holliston 3: Panther Hockey Team Drops Second Straight Game

The Panthers managed to climb out of an early 3-0 deficit before surrendering the winning goal late in the third period.

Despite coming back to tie from a three-goal deficit, the Holliston hockey team dropped a 4-3 decision to Marian in the consolation game of the Bellingham Christmas Tournament Thursday night.

Liam Murphy, Justin Dunham and John Power were the goal scorers for Holliston (2-2-1), which lost its second straight game after a 2-0-1 start. The Panthers struggled to contain Marian senior Andrew Lewis, who notched his first career hat trick, all in the first period.

After allowing Lewis to run amok in the first period, the Panthers roared back, trailing 3-1 after one period before forging a 3-3 tie in the second.

But Marian freshman Zaven Bablouzian scored with two minutes left to povide the game-winner for the Mustangs (3-1-2). Holliston had several opportunities to tie, including a goal disallowed by a kick-in with a minute left, but Marian goalie Cesar Carvajal made the lead stand up.
