After a long night at Boston Medical Center, family members say Nick Russo has made it through a major surgery.

"He survived surgery last night that removed part of his skull. He is currently in a coma and the next few days are very critical," Darlene Hayes, Russo's aunt, said.

Russo was airlifted from Framingham yesterday afternoon, after being found unconscious near the intersection of Elda and Eleanor Roads.

Neighbors have said a resident of the area treated Russo until paramedics could arrive. They also said police believe that Russo's unconscious body may have been dumped out of a tan sedan.
