UPDATED: NStar Says Friday Night for Full Power

More than 1,100 Holliston customers remained in the dark as of Tuesday morning.

UPDATED: As of 4 p.m., NStar updated its "estimated restoration time" to have all Holliston customers back on its power grid to Friday at 10 p.m.

As of 4 p.m., 705 customers were without electricity, or about 12 percent of total power customers in town.

For the first time since Irene knocked out power to hundreds of thousands on Sunday, NStar Tuesday release specific figures showing that Holliston still has 1,124 customers without electricity.

That figure, last updated at 9 a.m. Tuesday, meant that 18.8 percent of Holliston's 5,968 customers remained in the dark.

The utility gave 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 as the "estimated restoration time"--or the point at which 100 percent of the community would be back onto the grid.

"The time given is the worst case scenario," said spokesman Michael Durand.

By comparison, 511 customers in Hopkinton, 547 in Medway and 599 in Ashland remained without power as of 9 a.m.

The utility has said its crews have been working around-the-clock to restore lost service, focusing first on repairs that benefit the largest number of customers. By Tuesday morning, half of the customers across its service territory who had lost power had electricity restored.

There is a tree and telephone pole laying across my street. It has been there since Sunday morning and not a thing has been done.

On Tuesday a reverse call was left at my office regarding the Adams School being open for showers in the evening.
Good intentions but my land line is out @ home, along with my power.
How would I have known if I did not have power at work?

I am sure there are plenty of people that did not get the word.
