Oh My: Mystery Screamers; Ramblin' Man
We report the odd police news from across the MetroWest region.
The case of the mystery screamers: Part II.
Last week, we included in our OMG PD column a report of Milford police responding twice to the same address for reported screaming. Officers didn't hear the screaming themselves, nor were they able to determine its source. This week in Westborough, there was another case of phantom screamers. A Westborough resident called police to report she could hear a man and woman screaming. She said the man screamed first, then the woman. Two officers investigated and reported that no screaming was heard. Reportedly, neighbors didn't hear any screaming, either.
The case of the cat, the bat, and the cooler.
Shrewsbury police received a call Wednesday from a resident whose cat had brought home a bat in its mouth. Police dispatched Animal Control. The resident put the bat in a cooler for safe-keeping, until animal control arrived.
Let's hope they didn't get into an altercation in the courthouse parking lot, too...
A Marlborough woman and Hudson man were in Westborough District Court this week to answer to charges related to a road rage incident in Northborough. The pair allegedly followed a woman to her parking spot, and assaulted her next to her car.
Assuming he wasn't doing anything illegal, this is a bit embarrassing.
He's a ramblin' man...
A man walked in to Milford police headquarters and said he wanted to speak with an officer "regarding information he has." An officer spoke to him and reported the man was "intoxicated and rambling on about nothing."

The phantom screaming may be red foxes that do sound like human screams or yells. We have been hearing these sounds around our neighborhood for months and have seen foxes around when we hear it.

When I was growing up in Medway we had Fisher cats that were wicked scary sounding.

I heard a lot of loud angry screaming last week too. But after further investigation it was just my family reacting to the Miami Heat winning.
