Police Log: Stray Dog, Slashed Tires

The following information was supplied by the Hopkinton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, Feb. 3

1:31 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle on West Main Street. The vehicle had no plates on it and may have been abandoned.

8:35 a.m.: An officer spoke with a vehicle operator on Parkwood Drive.

11:12 a.m.: A caller from East Main Street reported that a vehicle pulled in to their driveway then got out of the car and replaced the inspection sticker. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

11:20 a.m.: A Lilac Circle resident reported that her tires had been slashed. An officer took a report.

2:53 p.m.: A motorist driving down West Main Street reported a house that appeared to have smoke coming from it. The Fire Department was notified and they confirmed that the house in question was having problems with a wood stove.

5:37 p.m.: Georgios E. Vasilakeris, 33, of 93 Grove St., Paxton was arrested on Main Street and charged with indecent assault and battery.

Saturday, Feb. 4

1:03 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle parked on Hayward Street.

3:03 a.m.: An officer took one person in to protective custody.

6:11 a.m.: The Hopkinton Police Department assisted the Soutborough Police Department after a report of breaking and entering on Ted Lane. The two departments canvased the area.

2:04 p.m.: A woman walked in to the station to speak with an officer about harassment and bullying of her daughter.

3:45 p.m.: An officer assisted the Hopkinton Fire Department with a brush fire on Cedar Street.

4:11 p.m.: An officer received a report that a vehicle had struck a deer on Hayden Rowe Street. The operator of the vehicle pulled over and the deer was in the bushes off the road. Animal Control picked up the deer.

4:38 p.m.: An officer responded to Lumber Street where several mailboxes had been vandalized.

6:21 p.m.: A customer of Middlesex Savings bank reported that the ATM was frozen and would not accept his card.

6:31 p.m.: An officer filed a criminal application for unlicensed operation on West Main Street.

Sunday, Feb. 5

2:03 a.m.: A caller from Lumber Street reported that a dog had been barking for the past hour. When an officer checked the area it was quiet.

8:13 a.m.: A caller reported that a stray dog was running in to traffic on Hayden Rowe Street. Animal Control responded and picked up the female black lab that had a pink collar but no tags.

1:54 p.m.: An Oliver Lane resident called to see if animal control could pick up a cat that was trying to get in to her house. The caller was fearful that someone would get scratched.

2:15 p.m.: An officer ticketed a driver on Main Street after following them down route 85 and observing speeding violation, following to closely and marked lanes violation.
