Has anyone checked out BJ's wines and liquors? They sell for example, Women of the Vine 2008 Pinot Noir (Best year for Pinot Noir) at $9.99. The same wine costs $16.99 at Julio's.

So sad about Sea Dog's owner, a Northborough resident, dumping all his top level managers and chefs, after they brought the restaurant to some pretty high standards. Now that they have done all the ground work for him, he has dumped them ~ nice way to say "Thank You" and hired those next in line for MUCH less money, OF COURSE. Did he really think nobody would notice? Did he really think it would be okay with the customers? So if things go downhill now, oh well...too late. Lesson to be learned, "no good deed goes unpunished". "Do a good job and you will be replaced by someone who will continue your practices for less pay". I sure will miss GM Mike, so cordial to the customers, willing to be sociable to keep customers coming back. Has anyone ever seen the owner there? Has anyone ever talked with him? Why won't he improve the lighting outside in the eastbound driveway entrance or improve the mobile phone service access..Ever tried to call anyone from there. Good luck. Thank God for great waitstaff..whatever you do Mr. Owner, DO NOT GET RID of FABIO. He is half the reason many of us love to sit at the bar.

Two comments if i may
- When comparing prices with Bj"s and whoever you should keep in mind the membership fee and then factored that into the price. Besides that the infrastructure is horrendous. I avoid that area completely
- I visited Sea Dog a year ago and was disappointed with the service, prices and portions. Like it's predecessor (I've forgotten it's name) I'm sure it will close in a year or two. As far as management is concern this is nothing new. This is the way
most companies treat their associates...like dirt.

I have to agree with FF. We only went there once and never went back. Not worth the money.
That said, this is an article about the best liquor stores in the area so we shouldn't be posting this here. Perhaps, Corrine, you should submit your post as a letter to the editor. Now back to the subject at hand........personally I like the staff and the selections at Country Liquors in Northboro.

Hands down, I'd rather give my money to Julio's. One of the best liquor stores in the state in my opinion. Great selection and the owner is very knowledgeable about his whiskey and scotches. The major chains are fine if I just need a bottle of wine with dinner but I'd much rather support a store like Julio's.

I completely agree. Their Beer selection is also the best of any place I have been, including larger size bottles, and they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

I actually agree that Julio's is a great store. You are absolutely right!
