Snow Removal: Where Does it Go?

With more than two feet of snow, residents are wondering where the town puts it all.

A Patch reader recently asked us the following question: "Where does the town put all the snow they remove from downtown and the schools?"

In Hopkinton, the snow gets trucked down to Cedar Street where it is left.

"That site is affectionately known as the "snow dump" because that is where we dump all the snow.  We dump snow there from intersections, the center of town, and the school parking lots," DPW Director John Westerling said.

According to Westerling the site has always been used for this purpose because of its convenience to crucial snow removal areas.
