Town Releases Water Main Flushing Map for May 9-25

Those with questions or concerns should contact the Water Department at 508-429-0603.

The Holliston Water Department has released a map for the water main flushing map for May 9-25 and posted it on the town's website.

The area of flushing runs along Washington Street from the Sherborn border to Fiske Street. From there, the area goes to Norfolk Street, then to the Medway border. Everything within the aforementioned streets and the Sherborn and Ashland borders will have their mains flushed.

The town has said that flushing may cause water flow reversal. That, in turn, could cause sediment scouring in pipes and result in colored water.

If the water is colored, it is still safe, and the color will disappear in a few days.

However, the town has recommended that residents avoid washing their clothes when flushing is done in their area.

Those with questions or concerns or anyone who has colored water for more than a few days, should contact the Water Department at 508-429-0603.
