We've crowned our winner.

Readers have been providing us with a break from the sadness of the last week, by uploading adorable photos of their puppies in our weekly contest. It wasn't easy to choose just one. After flipping through the pictures many times, we kept coming back to Kate N.'s picture of Scrump the pug. Congratulations, Kate (and Scrump), and thank you to all who entered! U.S. Rep. Joe Kennedy III Opens Congressional Art Competition for Fourth District Students

The deadline to submit artwork to Kennedy's Newton office is April 19, 2013.

Think your artwork is good enough to hang in the U.S. Capitol?  Congressman Joe Kennedy III announced last week his office is participating in the annual Congressional Art Competition, a high school visual arts contest.  Now through April 19, 2013, high school students in the Fourth Congressional District can submit paintings, drawings, collages, computer-generated art, prints, mixed media and photography pieces to Kennedy's office on Crafts Street in Newton. An independent arts panel that includes several artists and art professionals from across the Fourth District will select a finalist for each media category. Macbeth Final Performances This Weekend

The Hopkinton Middle School students are performing Shakespeare's play tonight and tomorrow.

    The Hopkinton Middle School Drama Club will present William Shakespeare’s tragedy, “Macbeth,” on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in the Hopkinton Middle School auditorium. Macbeth tells the story of a brave Scottish general who receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Encouraged by his wife, the madly ambitious Macbeth uses murder and treachery to fulfill this prophecy, but pays a steep price. The play features a cast and crew of 115 students.  Show times are at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Middle School Auditorium.
