Looks like once again, some slob decided to take all his or her household trash and dump it in a wetlands area off Kerry St. several days ago on 3/11.
This is routine stuff by now, people dumping 7, 8 or more bags of their trash someplace in town. This happens in addition to the same people and other people who are routinely throwing their refuse/garbage from whatever fast food place they just went to, out their car window every single day.
Not sure there are too many places left where one can drive around Hopkinton and not see garbage everywhere on the side of the road.
Amazing too be sure. In particular, when you see places where its a private residence,or even a business, yet there is trash all over the area closest to whatever road the residence or business may be on. Clearly someone other than the home owner or business owner has thrown trash from their car, ending up on said lawn, and yet the owners simply ignore the trash, as if they are thinking "well I didn't put that garbage there, so I am not going to pick it up" Strange stuff going on, I myself have to pick up other peoples garbage in my front yard every other day.

Including just this morning, several spent cups of coffee dumped and rolling around our street, to go along with the 15 spent cases of bud light and 50 spent cans of bud light and God knows what else.

John, can you identify the property and alert Conservation Administrator Don MacAdam at Town Hall, or let me know? Sounds like this could be/is a conservation violation, maybe something we can track down by what is in the garbage? Let's drive over there, I'll bring my gloves and a magnifying glass! ALSO there was a story online about a recent dumping of several bags at Exchange street. Fits a pattern of out of town dumpers!

Lets do it - I will reach out to Don MacAdam and send him my thoughts. I think the town at some point needs to have a person on the town payroll, much like a animal control, where when this stuff occurs, we can call said person and have it cleaned up. The mass trash dumpings are bad, but we also have people everywhere all day long throwing their garbage out their car windows, and every street shows evidence of that. I would like to see Hopkinton have someone who would systematically hit every street monthly - quarterly or whatever to pick up the trash, and be on call to respond to garbage dumping anywhere in town. I would also like to see the town tell the state to be responsible for any state roads choking with trash, like 495; to clean it up for Gods sake - instead of mowing it and shredding it into thousands of pieces like they do now !!!!, which by the way in case anyone cares, just ends up in all our water. The state does this and I am no lawyer, but is it legal for anyone to shred hundreds or more likely thousands of pounds of biodegradable and non-biodegradable trash on the side of the road in particular near and abutting wetlands including protected wet lands multiple times per year? Anyone out there who can add to this question please?
