Overnight Hopkinton got hit with what feels like the first snowstorm since Halloween. Although School wasn't cancelled today we're hope you took advantage of the little bit of winter wonderland while it's here.  Maybe you built a snowman or maybe your children did snow angels. The National Weather Service is warning of a flash freeze across much of eastern Massachusetts this afternoon. Temperatures have plummeted to below freezing after warmer weather turned the snowstorm into rain, freezing rain and sleet this morning. Residents who pick up sand to make their walks and driveways safer are asked to be safe when picking up sand at the Highway Department yard.
Snow stopped around noon giving way to sunshine mixed with clouds and a brisk north wind. The National Weather Service called today’s storm pretty much on the money. Hopkinton schools closed today because of heavy snow during the morning commute.  Keefe Technical High School closed. All after school and evening events are also canceled. All home and away basketball games and this evening's swim meet at Concord-Carlisle have been canceled.
