Topics will include the greyhounds crisis in Florida and the network of greyhound advocates working to transport these greyhounds to homes, the looming export strategy of the Irish Racing Board, (sending Irish racers to China), as well as the expanded breeding of extraneous track greyhounds to hunting dogs in the American Midwest. Media strategies and medical issues in relation to greyhounds will also be discussed.

Greyhound Friends Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving retired racing greyhound dogs and placing them in loving, responsible homes. This shelter takes in greyhounds from all of New England's race tracks. Founded in 1983, Greyhound Friends has found homes for more than 7,000 dogs. Dogs are ready for adoption directly from this shelter groomed and medically treated. These greyhounds make wonderful pets.
