Can you imagine selling your home for three rare tulip bulbs? Join us as we explore this wandering beauty in “The History of the Tulip and its 17th Century Tulipmania Moment”. Our guest speaker, Ila Cox, will describe how as a recent arrival to Holland in the 17th century, the tulip found itself the principle actor in an economic drama of historic proportions. The country's affection for the flower involved it in a global financial investment storm!

Ila Cox is a plant lover, gardener, flower arranger, and a student of garden and plant history. In addition, she is a community volunteer, member of the Andover Garden Club, and former Chairman of the Flower Committee Museum of Fine Arts Associates, Boston.

For more information, please contact Leslie Chodnowsky (Garden Club) at chodnowsky@comcast.net or Susan Marshall (Hopkinton Public Library) at 508-497-9777, email: smarshall@cwmars.org.
