Boston Marathon Motorcycle Ride, Deadline for Feedback on Milford Casino

1. The inaugural Boston Marathon - Dana Farber/ Jimmy Fund Motorcycle Ride is Sunday, setting off from Hopkinton and following the same course as the Boston Marathon. According to the announcement: "This ride is being setup by Fred Georgoulis and Dana Farber/ Jimmy Fund. Our crusade is to fight cancer and change the lives of those affected by this disease." The event begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.

2. The Milford Area Chamber of Commerce is asking its member businesses to share their concerns and thoughts about the proposed casino for Milford, Foxwoods Massachusetts. The chamber, which represents more than 500 businesses in Milford and surrounding towns, including Holliston and Hopkinton, has asked its members to respond by Saturday.

3. This weekend is tax-free shopping in Massachusetts, which means an automatic savings of 6.25 percent, although many retailers are offering special deals too.

4. Holliston School for the Performing Arts will hold an open house at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, to explain its programs and allow parents to meet the teachers.
