Heavy Rain in the Forecast, Fresh Corn at Outpost Farm

1.  Heavy rain is in the forecast for Tuesday. It should get started by mid morning. Afternoon rain could include a thunderstorm, according to the National Weather Service in Taunton.

2. Fresh corn is coming in fast and going fast, too, at Outpost Farm. Just when the bin was starting to look picked over, at 4 p.m. when we stopped by, an employee filled it up again with fresh ears. The farm in Holliston also sells fresh pies and other veggies.

3. Dana Farber has a nutrition app now available for both Android and iPhone mobile phones, which will provide recipes that are useful in fighting cancer.

4. Milford is starting a farmers market on Saturdays, beginning Aug. 24. The market will be next to the Milford Town Hall on Main Street. The market volunteers are still looking for farmers and bakers and others interested in selling goods. It also needs more vegetable farmers.
