Monday Essentials: Intersection Improvements at School and West Main Streets

Construction at School and West Main Streets should begin this week.

1. Utility crews marked the areas along West Main Street that will be affected by construction beginning this week. And trees have been tagged that will be removed. The construction will include turn lanes on to School Street at the juncture, and installation of a stop light. It will take several months and is expected to begin this week.

2. An Arizona-based senior health care company will open a site in Westborough Monday. It will serve several surrounding communities, including Hopkinton. ActiveRx's first New England active aging center will open at 24 Lyman St., Suite 140 in the Westborough Shopping Center, at Route 9, officials announced.

3. The Holliston and Hopkinton cultural councils have each received $4,250 state cultural grants, to help promote the arts, the humanities and the sciences, state Sen. Karen Spilka announced recently.

4. Milford Selectmen will begin to discuss a draft host agreement with Foxwoods Massachusetts Monday. The draft has been submitted by the town's attorneys.
