New Administrators at Hopkinton Schools, Bus Routes, Passes Coming

The new school year is about to begin. Here are some changes, and an announcement about an after-school program, too.

1. Several administrative changes will come with the opening of schools in Hopkinton. The district has a new superintendent, and recently announced the appointment of new principals. Lauren Dubeau is now principal of Center School. She holds a master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and previously was principal of the Simonian Center for Early Learning at Sutton Public Schools. Mike Cournoyer is now principal of Hopkinton High School. Cournoyer holds a master's degree in educational leadership, and previously was principal of Holliston High School. He previously served as Assistant Principal of Hopkinton High.

2. Bus passes in Hopkinton will be mailed to the parents of students on Monday and Tuesday. If a student has not received a bus pass by the time schools open, they can still ride the bus, but will be given a form.

3. Bus routes, meanwhile, will be published the last week of August on the district's website.

4. Let's Sing, Dance, Act in Hopkinton is now taking registrations for fall enrollment.

5. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The agenda includes an update on the licensing process for the resort casino developments. The meeting is in Boston, but is live streamed through the commission's website, at www.massgaming.com.
