Special Honor Teachers Day at Southwick’s Zoo

Mendon, MA- In order to recognize the all of the hard work and sacrifices given by teachers, Southwick’s Zoo is offering free admission to all teachers on Honor Teachers Day, June 2, 2013. The Zoo is also providing accredited educators 25% off any purchase at the Purple Peacock gift shop, which contains a variety of animal-themed gifts and educational tools.

Honor Teachers Day was created as just another opportunity for Southwick’s Zoo to give back to the community that so profoundly supports them. Teachers and school groups make up many of the Zoo’s regular visitors. Southwick’s Zoo is thankful to have the opportunity to enrich the lives of young learners and is thrilled to have an opportunity to give back to the teachers that make this possible.

“One of our strongest passions is to educate others about the importance of these animals,” says Betsey Brewer, an owner of Southwick’s Zoo and Executive Director of grassroots educational and conservation organization, EARTH Limited. “It’s so rewarding to watch students and teachers alike experience a unique  look at these exotic animals; something we couldn’t do without the support of local educators.” Southwick’s Zoo is dedicated to the education and conservation of all species, which is why they are one of the biggest supporters of EARTH Limited and their educational programs.
