Mendon, MA- Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, MA has been attracting visitors from all over New England for the last 50 years. This year the zoo has dubbed Sunday, September 8th as “Massachusetts Day,” where guests who present a valid Massachusetts ID have the opportunity to buy one regularly priced admission ticket and receive the second free. Larger families and those who have not yet had the chance to visit the zoo this summer will be especially pleased to hear about this offer.
Southwick’s Zoo is run solely on private funding and does not receive any financial assistance from the government. The money made from admission tickets and concessions is vital to preserving the health of the zoo.
“We wouldn’t be able to run this zoo without the financial support of our visitors,” says Betsey Brewer, one of Southwick’s Zoo’s owners. “We’ve created annual discount days like these to show our gratitude for those who allow us to maintain a clean, safe, and ever-expanding zoo.”
Residents of the other New England states will also have the opportunity to take advantage of this same “buy one, get one free” offer on other specified days in September. Visit Southwick’s Zoo online at www.southwickszoo.com to view the entire schedule of events.
