Non-profit seeking experienced part-time volunteer development officer
FRAMINGHAM, WALTHAM, Mass. – The John Andrew Mazie Memorial Foundation (JAMMF), a nonprofit organization that operates the Mazie Mentoring Program for aspiring high school students, is looking for a part-time development officer to assist with grant writing and sponsorship opportunities. This is an unpaid volunteer position that will require approximately 10 hours of work per week from home.
Each year, the Mazie Mentoring Program pairs 60 Waltham and Framingham High School students who are at risk of not fulfilling their potential with adult volunteer mentors who can help them thrive. In the last 16 years, the unique goal-oriented, scholarship, award and mentoring program has helped more than 500 young people go on to achieve more fulfilled and successful lives. More than 90 percent of youth in the program graduate high school and more than 70 percent move on to college or other post-secondary training programs.
The Mazie Foundation is publicly funded through grants, corporate support, events and individual financial contributions. The appropriate candidate for this position will have excellent writing and grammar skills and will be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous experience with individual and corporate stewardship, development research and grant writing is critical. Previous corporate communications experience is recommended.
