Free Movie on Climate Change on Thursday

The Holliston Democratic Town Committee will show "Greedy Lying Bastards" at the Adams Middle School on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

The Holliston Democratic Town Committee's second movie in a series regarding climate change will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Adams Middle School Auditorium.

“Greedy Lying Bastards” looks at why tackling climate change has been so difficult, despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a reality, but a growing problem placing us on the brink of disaster. The film points to the people and organizations casting doubt on climate science and claiming that greenhouse gases are not affected by human behavior, all while profiting from the fossil fuel industry.

Additionally, the film looks at the U.S. Supreme Court decision Citizens United, a ruling that paved the way for unlimited corporate contributions to political campaigns. It also highlights the relationship between the Court and corporate interests.

Lee Kettelsen of the grassroots, nonpartisan group Move-to-Amend will be on-hand following the film to discuss the need for a pro-democracy amendment to the Constitution to limit the influence of big money in our democracy.
