Look to the Sky Tonight for a Great Show

If you're interested in stargazing and astronomy, the Quadrantids meteor shower should be a great show for you to watch tonight.

A USA Today article posted yesterday explained what makes this shower different from some of the others.

The shower is called the "Quads" by astronomers, says Bill Cooke, who tracks "space rocks" as director of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. "They're one of the more active meteor showers of the year, but they're not seen by many people" because they occur in early morning hours in winter, he says. "It's very cold around that time, so people don't want to go outside."

Tonight's weather is going to be very cold; weather.com says the low tonight will be 1 degree Fahrenheit. The cold weather should help keep the skies very clear though.

Many areas around Hopkinton make for great viewing because of the low amount of light pollution. The farther you get away from South Street and Main Street the better off you may be.
