The Old and the New of Holliston

Since 1863, Fiske's General Store has seen many neighbors come and go.

At the intersection of Washington and Central Streets, we have the quintessential juxtaposition of old and new Holliston. At left in the first picture (from 1908) is the building that has housed middle-schoolers on half-days in the early 1990s. Of course, if you wanted penny candy in those days, you had to saddle up the horse and carriage, as evidenced by the unpaved roads and absence of the station on the left. Now you can pack the kids in the minivan, grab some supplies at Fiske's, then go next door to grab a bite at .

The building on the right, across Central Street, has also changed significantly over the years, now housing , , , .
