Hopkinton Solar Energy Fuels Stonehill College Solar Plan

The Hopkinton company will be installing a 2.7 megawatt solar array that will cover 20 percent of Stonehill's electricity use.

Solect Energy Development in Hopkinton is helping Stonehill College with one of the largest solar installations on a college campus in New England, according to www.DigitalJournal.com

According to a story published this week, Solect will be installing "a 2.7 megawatt (MW) pole-mounted solar array that will cover 20 percent of the college’s electricity use." 

The solar array encompasses 15 acres on the Davis Ames Clock Farm land adjacent to the campus in North Easton.

Congratulations to both organizations for their commitment to the environment. We're very happy to see more and more green projects and initiatives in the news. Doug - thank you for your support! So many homes and businesses are realizing the economic and environmental benefits of installing solar and other renewable energy technologies. As you mentioned - its been great to see larger organizations such as Stonehill College invest in solar energy and make a long-term commitment to their sustainable efforts. Stonehill College serves as a great model for other schools and businesses. There is so much to gain from the sun!
