Readers Show Support for Favorite Entertainment Venues

MetroWest-area readers came out in full force to vote for concert, entertainment and music venues in our latest poll.

In our most recent "Best of Patch: Readers' Choice poll, we asked readers and editors from 11 MetroWest-area Patch communities to submit one business or destination from their town or city to be included in a poll for "the best entertainment spot." We divided the choices into two polls: ; the other included .

Two businesses emerged as the winners of the respective polls:

in Framingham

in Northborough

It is important to note, though, that the other contestants in the polls received a lot of support, too. Readers made it clear that there are plenty of great options for entertainment in MetroWest! Where's your favorite place to catch a show or performance?

@Jim & Joe - I agree with Mary - you started the conversation off topic ... YOU FROM ABOVE -- "Now if we can only get the rest of the South side to step up to the plate. If I wanted a South American flair and all the nuances that go along with it I'd move to South America, but lucky me, I just have to walk downtown and save the plane fare." You've had your say! Why don't you turn off your computer for a while; Have a nice dinner and try conversing with live people and not here on this report.

And yes, J&J, the correct answer in this case is to take away your megaphone. Enough is enough.

The name calling on this post needs to end. It is not appropriate.

I'd love to.. and this article is the first I've seen about it (normally I'm a Marlborough Patch kinda guy, this story is crossposted). As for live music venues in Framingham in general, I long for Liam's (and a few hours sobering up at The Corner Deli afterward) all the time... though these days, I've been down to The Tavern to see several local bands (including Distant Early Warning, one of the best Rush cover bands I've seen) and consider it one of the better local "dives" to see local band talent also. It's not exactly the venue for some types of entertainment, but for that "bar band" feel, and the fact they have some kind of fetish for deep frying anything too slow to escape their wrath (baskets of deep fried bacon and pepperoni are awful-for-you-but-oh-so-good appetizers, as is the deep fried twinkie..), The Tavern is my kind of Dive.

Hi, all - we've heard you loud and clear and are disabling comments for this article. This has gotten quite off topic. Thanks.
